Should only the Rasi be considered when looking for planets that would benefit from remedies?
How do Rahu/Ketu influence house strength? For example: in a chart that has Rahu and Sun in one house and Jupiter and Saturn in another, would both houses be considered to be equal in planet number? And if Rahu or Ketu was alone in a house, would it be considered more or less significant (or equal?) to a house with one planet in it? Or would Rahu/Ketu be weaker than houses with exalted planets but stronger than debilitated? etc. It seems like they shouldn’t be ignored, but I have no idea how to incorporate them.
I’ve been trying to research Rahu/Ketu strength information but haven’t been able to find much from reliable sources…
I found the following in a book from Bepin Behari:
“Rahu has auspicious results in Taurus, Cancer and Aries”
“If the nodes are placed in the 3rd, 6th, or 11th houses, their beneficence is pronounced.”
But that’s still quite vague, and auspiciousness isn’t the same as strength.I have two questions regarding the lecture.
In the 2nd example on page 2 it says: “The 5th will then be 5 from pisces, thus Scorpio, followed by Cancer and then add one sign to go to Leo, and continue following the 551 pattern.” Is it supposed to be Gemini instead of Leo?
And in example 1 on page two it says: “Taurus is a moveable sign”, but I think it’s supposed to say fixed.
Here are my interpretations:
1) Tall, dark, and attractive due to placement of Lagna and Sun both in Sagittarius and the lord of his Lagna being in Libra. (These placements likely make his personality very fiery and passionate, but somewhat detached because of Saturn’s and Moon’s aspect). Could be strong due to Saturn’s planetary square aspect, although may also suffer health problems related to this.
2) He has a strong, hard working mind, but pessimistic at times due Moon being lord of the 8th and being placed in an unfriendly sign. Mercury and Saturn have a Parivartan Yoga making Mercury exalted in the 10th house making him very intelligent in his life’s work, but his intelligence may interfere with his mind/emotions because Mercury and Moon are great enemies in his chart.
3) His AK Sun being strong in his ascendant could lead to a lot of confidence, pride, fame and good health. He could be a good public speaker and have great charisma. And because his AK is lord of his 9th, I would think he used these skills for spiritual purposes and became a great leader for a spiritual movement.
Other Observations:
– He has strong Trines with lord of the 5th in mulatrikona in the 5th and lord of the 9th in the 1st, which leads to great potential for spiritual life. With Jupiter and Sun being great friends and both being connected with the trines could lead to a very famous spiritual or political figure. I’m inclined to think more spiritual due to placement of the 6/12 Rahu/Ketu. Ketu in the 6th could lead to a lot of karmic/mental obstacles, and create a lot of situations where he would serve others. And Rahu in the 12th leads to material detachment as well as an exaggerated desire for final liberation. His Saturn also has 100% aspect on his 12th. Having two malefics in a naturally malefic house would end up causing great success in regards to enlightenment.– Moon being lord of the 8th in the 10th could also imply he works with the dead or works with magic. Lord of the 10th exalted in the 10th shows great success in whatever field he pursued.
– Mars being strongly placed in the 5th may lead to high level of education. He may also be skilled in military tactics or maybe in political warfare. Or maybe because it’s lord of the 5th and 12th mulatrikona in the 5th, he is highly educated in ways to reach enlightenment.
– Lord of the 5th in the 5th being a malefic would mean he has no children.
